Sustainable Value for Your Association and Members

Last month, Sawyer Myers, Impact Association Manger, Kirsten Reader, Impact COO, and Jodi Fisher, Impact CEO, attended WSAE’s LIVE! @ Lambeau event. The conference was hosted at Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers. It was here that WSAE colleagues were able to network and learn from many educational speakers over the course of two days.

Association pricing and value strategies

One notable presentation during the event was given by Dr. Michael Tatonetti. He discussed the importance of association pricing and value strategies. During his presentation, he walked through the steps necessary to identify the value an association provides its members, and then how to sell that value. Dr. Tatonetti asserted it is very important for an association to understand its worth and value in the eyes of its members. Monetary decisions should not only be made for members, but also for the sustainability of the association itself. This ensures associations can remain a strong resource for members and continue to offer the services that provide value.

Creating a positive member experience

The conference ended with Keynote speaker John McHugh, the Director of Corporate Communications, Leadership Development, and Training for Kwik Trip. Through a series of personal, and touching stories, McHugh shared the value of instilling a collective positive culture within an organization. The intent of this positive culture is to ensure the customer feels like they are part of something bigger than themselves and that they, as a customer, are providing value to the organization. Because they are! These happy customers are returning and contributing to the success of the Kwik Trip organization again and again. McHugh noted that an organization that is committed to the customer experience will not have to put nearly as much effort into sales, because the sales will come naturally. Put the customer first and the benefits will reach both the organization and the customer.
